In 2007 we began the process of purchasing a piece of property located in central Luzon, Philippines, for the purpose of having an orphanage community. While we are trying to avoid using the term "orphanage", its purpose will be to provide a safe haven for street children who have been abandoned by their parents for various reasons. Our community will provide basic physical needs such as warm meals, housing, and clothing, while at the same time creating an atmosphere of love and acceptance. Currently, we have the LifeChild property completely paid for and we plan to begin construction immediately.
The model for this community is different from that of more traditional "institutional" orphanages, in that the children will be provided with house parents on-site and a home environment. We can potentially build 5 to10 small homes on the land with up to 6 children in each home and one set of house parents in each home. Children will be educated and taught skills and trades as they grow, in an effort to enable them to fulfill their God-given destinies.
